This is our UMPTEENTH time here at Sussex Lions Daze! This show is always a packed and one sweaty good time! The weather was looking good, the anticipation for a night of fun was high, and the stage was set for one killer rock show. Cue that weather that we thought was looking good… about an hour before the show was to start, the sky to the west was starting to look ominous. So ominous that a check of the radar showed a severe squall line approaching at 60 mph with straight line winds. Right at show start, 9PM, we got SLAMMED. A torrential downpour didn't stop the fun though. People picked either the large beer tent or the large pavilion we were playing under. Most chose the pavilion. Why wouldn't they?!
As the rain came down, it was blowing sideways which forced our stage Tech Marty and our Photographer, Amanda Trash, to run over to Dave's side of the stage with tarps and clamps, to keep the rain from pouring all over the tv, Dave's guitars and his pedal board. Good gravy that was quite the storm! All was well and that side of the stage was protected from any further water damage via the use of said tarps and clamps.
All in all we had an excellent and energetic show. We thank the masses of people that stayed to rock out with us. And a huge thank you goes out to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, to Rick and to his crew of volunteers that took care of us and of course, our crowd. A great time was had by all! See ya next year for another round of Sussex Lions Daze!
