We play several Fireman's Picnics every summer. This one happens to be in Neshkoro and is put on yearly, around Independence Day. What is cool about this one is that a special stage was built one year JUST to have bands play on. A brilliant design really… it was built on top of a flatbed trailer and folds onto itself along with stairs on each side. The fire department even rents it out to other events just so they can have bands on this cool (and mobile) stage! It's an honor to play on it!
This year we were treated to perfect weather during the show even though a few hours before our arrival, it down poured. AGAIN. Our fine state is SO lush this year; and buggy. Hey, no complaints from us though. Frank and his lovely lady, Amanda, planted over SIXTY bushes and trees in their yard this year and that rain has been a blessing. Yes, a little known fact… Frank LOVES gardening when he is not gigging. And one acre of land has slowly transformed into the perfect zen oasis to hang in when Cherry Pie isn't playing.
Back to band stuff… we set a record for merch sold this particular night. A record for money made in the entire history of the band for merch sold in one night that is. Let's just say, you Cherry Pie fanatics cleaned us out of almost ALL of the T-shirts, tanks and hoodies we brought to the show and then some. How amazingly supportive and awesome of you guys and gals! We are very grateful!
As the sun went down and the bugs came out, so did the rest of the fine folks of Neshkoro. What a killer night! Loved watching you rock out to tune after tune. We had a blast and hope you did too!
