It's been a minute since we have played this festival. We haven't played it since 2015 and 2016 to be exact. We were excited to be invited back! Things were pretty much the same other than the tent for the music was moved to dry ground for the show; ie the parking lot. That threw a wrench into the parking situation for the festival. Parking is a premium in the area as the streets are mostly one way and very narrow. So Lion Fest graciously set up a free shuttle system that bussed people in from the nearby MATC parking lot, right to the festival front door. How awesome is that?! Bus load by bus load, the people rolled in. And before we knew it, it was show time.
Opening up for us were our buddies, Dirty Boogie. We've known these guys since jamming together in Frank's parents' basement way back in the day. Yep. We all went to school together or ran in the same music circle for our entire lives. It's fun to see where everyone ends up. Most of us, still play music! We'll save those stories for another time.
Cue the kabuki curtain drop. Show time! As the sun went down, the people kept coming in bus load by bus load. So much fun and so many smiles on the faces of everyone. You keep us going show after show.
