It was a good run at Belmont Fireman's Dance. We have played this show for the last 6 years; Andy, our lead singer, even longer! Double that amount if our memory serves us correctly.
Now on the way to the show, we were caught in yet another downpour of rain. Let's talk about that for a second… what an unprecedented amount of rain we had this spring! UNREAL! Reminds us of 2019, the summer of rain tour. That was a wet one, but this year takes the cake so far. Don't get us wrong, rain is good; just not for our shows. Water and expensive sound and music equipment don't mix.
Setup went off without a hitch. Nothing exciting to report. Sound check was great. A little razzing here and there amongst ourselves always happens. A lot of filming happens in this time for our “Slice Of the Pie” videos. We are told that the behind the scenes stuff appeals to the masses. Your wish is our command!
Moving on.
Picture this… a fire station cleared out for a stage setup. Drag in two large trailers full of sound and music gear, countless cords and cables, and BOOM… the fire station was transformed into one hell of a venue for a full rock show. 600-ish people later, the show was in full swing. Thanks to each and every one of you for coming out to the show! We must say, it's always a fun show here. The hospitality is also always top notch. We had help at load in, plenty of water and soda, and the fireman's wives made us a delicious breakfast for after the show…THANK YOU Belmont Fire Department for always being such gracious hosts. We appreciate you and your service to the community. Great group of guys and gals!
So with that, we bid you farewell Belmont! Thanks again for hosting us all these years and don't be strangers! We hope to be back in your wonderful community again some day in some capacity. You ROCK!
