Show #1512 ~ North Prairie Harvest Festival ~ 9-21-24

Hellllllllllooooo North Prairie! This is home base for two of us in the band, Frankie and Dave! We have this little thing amongst ourselves after we leave each show where we group text each other, I'm home! (Or whatever other razzin' we give each other)…. Andy is USUALLY the first one home since he lives centrally in the State. But in this instance, Frank was home first (90 seconds - Andy was worried it took so long lol), Dave was second (three minutes), Andy was third (about an hour), and Flap had the farthest to go (one and a half-ish hours), which is usually how it goes every show for him.

Tell you what though, playing for our friends, family and neighbors is a pretty big deal to us. Just about EVERYONE in North Prairie knows Frankie & Amanda (our lovely photographer/videographer/backup gal/cleaner upper of all things Cherry Pie) or of them because of their yard.  If you have ever driven thru North Prairie, then you know which yard we speak of.  Halloween and Christmas hosts the most spectacular of yard/house displays if we may say so! *wink wink

Andy called Frankie the Pseudo-Mayor of North Prairie lol.  And although North Prairie does not have a true mayor of sorts, we do have a fabulous community of leaders, committees and a great PTO for our school. We have everything we need here in our little Village of just over 2,000 people. An elementary school, a gas station with a mini grocery store inside, a few car repair shops, an insurance company, a Lutheran Church, a salon, a dentist, one bar, two parks, an industrial section that employs a lot of our locals, a lot of farms and more! In fact, we even have a little Historical Society and a native Prairie Garden that take us back to our roots (figuratively and literally) here. It's pretty cool!

So now we get to queue the weather… the clouds were looking pretty ominous to the northwest while we were loading in. It's been pretty dry for weeks here and we REALLY needed the rain. But NOT on a show day. Well, it rained. And then it let up in time for almost ALL of the show and then it rained again, but much harder. Our little Village had almost doubled in population for the evening and then poof! The rain cleared a lot of people out unfortunately.  Some diehards stayed out and danced in the rain while the rest huddled like penguins in the beer tent. Great for beer sales, bad for the stage mojo. We were under a pavilion so we stayed mostly dry and we did our best to continue putting on the best show despite the bad weather.

We also raffled off a Fender Guitar package with all proceeds to be handed over to Rebels On A Mission. We were happy to present a check for $750 due to YOUR generosity. THANK YOU NORTH PRAIRIE!

Queue load-out and that weather we were worried about. A monsoon hit lol. It was what it was and we got the job done; second shower of the day and all.

We had a great show and a great time! We owe a HUGE thank you to Jane and the entire North Prairie Harvest Festival Committee and ALL the volunteers for their time and dedication to our Village Festival. You guys and gals did an awesome job!

Until next time, keep rockin' Cherry Pie family & friends! KEEP ROCKIN'!

PS: Thank you Lord for the rain! We love singing and playing in the rain and to Your glory!
