What a REALLY cool place! Bonnie & Clyde Gangster Park is nestled WAY up in the Northwoods of Wisconsin in the community of Harshaw. The mailing address actually says Town of Cassian. Where is that?! WAY UP NORTH! Google it.
The drive for most of us (including our crew) was 4+ hours and at least two tanks of gas. That part is really beside the point though… what a beautiful drive and a beautiful day for a show. The temperature was just right and the sky was slightly overcast which made for those comfortable temps. Now about this park… WOW! Like we said, what a really cool place. The only time we played here was in September of 2016 when the park was in its infancy. Rick had the two main buildings built but no stages, no blacktop, and only the front parking lot was open. WOW has the place really been shined up like a new penny. Think Full Throttle Saloon but cooler, a bit tamer and in Wisconsin. It is also a photographer's paradise. Signs and interesting features EVERYWHERE to see. Add a couple thousand motorcycle riders and some alcohol and we have a party in The Northwoods!
Setup went off without a hitch. In fact, the stage that Rick brought in was huge. We even had the help of a forklift to get our gear up to the stage. How much does one of those things cost and how can we get one for our shows?! That made load in and load out SO much easier and faster.
The crowd rolled in just as we finished sound check. Some of us took a quick minute to stuff our faces with some delicious food (thanks for the hospitality Deb and for hooking us up with some food vouchers) and then peruse the grounds to see all that Rick has built and improved upon. Frank even got a ride back to the stage just in time for the show to start, in a cool red hotrod. The model name escapes us, but what a cool car! Thanks for the ride Earl!
The show was awesome… may we say a biker crowd is always fun, but they def like to stand back and watch the show. There was this strange void in front of the stage; a no-mans land of sorts. The few brave ladies, including a large bachelorette party, that did join up front to dance was fun. THANKS! We don't have cooties. We swear it.
Rick… we owe you a HUGE thanks to you and your crew for taking care of us and for having us back to your fine establishment. WE HAD A BLAST!
Wisconsin… if you have never been to Bonnie & Clyde Gangster Park, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Go visit the place… especially during the fall ride. It's a unique and fun experience you won't soon forget.
