A Word from Josh:
The Red Zone is the current name of the old Regent Street Retreat, which was a hot spot for live music in the 1990s and early 2000s. We played here back on September 29, 2000. New management along with the new name has brought about the venue's resurgence and we're very glad to be a part of their current rotation. In fact, the Red Zone stepped up and pretty much took over all of our traditional bookings left hanging by the recent demise of the Badger Bowl including tonight's Thanksgiving Eve show, my Tuesday night Open Jams and the Cherry Pie New Year's Eve Extravaganza. That certainly made life easier for us in dealing with the changing live music venue landscape. I guess we were hoping that the same crowds that supported us so well at the Badger Bowl would just automatically all come to the Red Zone tonight, but it's not that simple. The Red Zone is much more of a downtown/campus type bar and people tend to worry about parking (unfounded BTW, there is plenty of parking at nearby businesses after 6:00 pm and street parking in the neighborhood across the street). Tonight's show drew a good crowd but it's obvious that we have work to do to fully adjust to the changes. Technically the room is as good as ever with a nice stage complete with stellar house PA and light systems. This all made for a solid show and helped build a lot of anticipation for the New Year's Eve show. Make your plans now to be a part of that special night.     -Josh

CT:
"Great mix in that room, which was surprising given it's all tile. Nice work by Matt!"
