A Word from Josh:
Tonight was a unique show for us. It was part of a fundraising benefit for a young man named Josh Uttermark who was diagnosed with leukemia in May. None of us have ever met Josh and he was unable to attend tonight's event but the effort and support of his family and friends who put it together was inspiring. They know how to put the "fun" in fundraising. Activities took place all day including a lot of golfing and a big dinner banquet. We took over at nightfall playing on a covered flatbed truck placed right on the driving range. The show was well-attended and a lot of fun despite falling temperatures as we rocked into the night. The crowd included people of all ages including a 10-year-old girl named Kiana Sanger who's encyclopedic knowledge of 80s Rock prompted John to refer to her parents and the "best parents ever". Indeed, Kiana spent much of the show up front singing along. She clearly knows a lot more of the lyrics to our songs than I do. John brought her on stage for "Take It On the Run" where she seemed to steal the show. She stayed on the stage and danced along to the next song "Girls Girls Girls" which made John hesitant to sing some of the more risqué lyrics. Another scene-stealer was Courtney (I didn't catch her last name), a bartender from a nearby tavern who came up and sang "I Hate Myself for Loving You". This was all typical of the camaraderie we felt from so many people all night. After the show John found a stray kitten curled up in his truck. Frankie and Amanda took the little cutie-pie home and took good care of him. Such is the rock-n-roll lifestyle. We have to give a big shout-out to Bill Kaliebe who ran sound for us in place of Matt who was unavailable this week. Thank you to Josh's amazing family and friends for bringing us into this event. We wish Josh the best in his recovery.     -Josh
