A Word from Josh:
I'll just say here at the top that this was one of our best shows of the year. The stage, the performance, the setting, the weather and the crowd were all amazing; definitely one of those nights when we're really glad we're in this business. I started the show a bit nervous for a couple of reasons. First, we were using a foreign sound company and had to do a super-quick set up without a proper sound check because of another band playing before us (a darn good country rock band called Highfield Drive). Second, I picked up a new guitar just a couple hours before the show and would be playing it through my own amp for the first time in front of thousands of people. In addition, by sheer turn of chance, the first two songs on the set list were to feature me on the guitar solos. Fortunately all of my concerns quickly melted away as the sound system and my new guitar (and my fingers) performed splendidly from the start. From that point all we had to do was enjoy being rock stars for the rest of the night. The massive crowd includes some very familiar faces including members of the legendary Bad Boy. Their drummer Scott E Berendt spent part of the first set teasing me from the side of the stage. Another musical friend Dani Daly of the band Oil Can Harry took clowning around a bit further by coming on stage and mugging Frankie as he tried to play "Rag Doll" and "The Stroke". All good fun. It may be September in Wisconsin, but the Summer Festival Season is still in full swing and tonight was a great example of that.     -Josh
