A Word from Josh:
There is no doubt that, when we look at our calendar, our State Fair dates always get circled as high points of any given year. Tonight was a particularly spectacular night at the State Fair, not just at the Bud Pavilion but throughout the Fair as a whole. There were at least 8 other high quality bands playing elsewhere in the park, most of them friends of ours. Countless other friends bounced around seeing as many of these bands as they could. Aside from the Main Stage, the Bud Pavilion is the best State Fair stage to play on... by far. We're so glad to be mainstays here and we try not to take it for granted. But then there are moments when it's just cool to be a rock star. Leanne, Dave, Dooley, Dan and the rest of the staff at the Bud Pavilion continue to be so good to us. By recent standards, tonight was a typical State Fair show for us, which means that it was totally awesome. We put on a solid show for a great crowd and had a great time doing it. One thing that was different was that, for the first time at this stage, we brought in our own light show in order to maximize our idea of what the Cherry Pie experience should be. But not everything was perfect; I had an unfortunate incident during "Love in an Elevator" when somebody in the crowd doused me with water. Perhaps he or she thought I was on fire. If that's the case I appreciate their concern, quick-thinking and resourcefulness. But, on the other hand, it was probably just some drunk douche-bag. Oh well, I guess it's true that, as hard as we try, you really can't please EVERYBODY. By the end of the night we were pretty pleased and are stoked to be returning here next Saturday for another go-round.    -Josh
