A Word from Josh:
Ah, what a difference six years make. We played here at the Washington County Fair once before back in 2010. That was not a pleasant memory for us as we struggled to deal with wet conditions and a substandard PA system that was provided by the event. Flash forward to 2016 and we're back, this time with perfect weather and our own top notch sound and lights. Like last time, we played in the beer tent located a couple hundred yards southeast of the main stage which features national artists. In 2010 it was Jackyl, Dokken and Cinderella playing the main stage before our big set. It was pretty cool having these 80s Rock artists to follow since they're right in our demographic wheelhouse. This year, in sharp contrast, it was country artist Lee Brice that played to a huge crowd on the main stage, which is now a very impressive permanent structure. Brice plays a variety of modern country, but his biggest hits are ballads which made for an interesting final 20 minutes of his show. His tear-jerking tribute to a fallen American soldier "I Drive Your Truck" was followed immediately by a heavy metal drum solo which led into a cover of Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" before finishing the show with his other hit ballad "I Don't Dance." We began playing as soon and his show was over and our brand of 80s Rock seemed to be exactly what the doctor ordered following this epic display of mellow country music. Our tent was immediately packed as could be and it stayed that way for most of our 3+ hour set. In fact, I had the feeling that if the tent were twice as big, it still would have been filled to capacity. After working through a couple of early technical hiccups, the rest of our long show went very well and the crowd responded in kind. It ended at 1:00 am which is very late for a Summer festival show but the energy level remained high throughout. We're glad that the Washington County Fair gave us another shot to show them what we've got. The whole night was a smashing success.    -Josh
