A Word from Josh: Tonight we headed west to participate in a motorcycle-themed charity event. The festivities included an amusing skill challenge where participants tried to bite a hot dog that was hanging on a string as they rode under it in a moving motorcycle without using their hands. What WILL they think of next? Anyway, "biker crowds" have always been a good demographic for us and we know they can be rowdy and bring lots of excitement. Well, tonight's biker crowd... not so much. Through most of the first set they mostly stood quietly and watched, offering polite applause for the songs that they liked. A small smattering of dancing occasionally broke out, but not much. We were told that this behavior was pretty typical for this event over the years. Well, at some point along the way John decided that he wasn't having it. That may be what people did in years past but in 2016 you've got Cherry Pie and that means bringing the party. With two songs left in the first set John delivered a rant that laid down the law of what a Pie is supposed to be like. It worked and from that point on the crowd rocked with much more enthusiasm. That's just how we roll. Apparently the event organizers approved and have already invited us back to play at this event next year. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
