A Word from Josh: This year the 4th of July falls on a Monday. That creates a unique scenario for bands and music venues where it gives opportunity to play four nights in a row... and that's exactly what we'll be doing starting tonight. In fact, if you include our Bike Nite show this past Wednesday, that means we're playing five shows in six days. Now, I know what you're thinking... That's a lot of Pie... Oh, the carbs!! Indeed, we've never had a stretch like this before, and for good reason. The virtuosic type singing demanded for 80s Rock puts a huge burden on John every night and to ask him to do it three or four nights in a row has always been deemed unacceptable. But this time we decided to chance it. With Kase and I picking up some additional songs to sing and John pacing himself with carefully constructed set lists and lying in stasis in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber between shows we think we can pull this off. This odyssey began tonight in Grafton at an event that isn't even officially an Independence Day event. It's an event centered on a barbecue contest. Yummy!! We played here back in 2013 and were glad to be asked back this year. They provide an awesome stage on a baseball field. Although several hundred people attended, the huge area gave it a very spacious feel in sharp contrast to the packed beer tents we often play to. The weather was perfect, the show went well and the food was great. Hope to do it again next year. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
