***SHOW STOPPED DUE TO WEATHER***

A Word from Josh:
"This is starting to get ridiculous," commented our soundman Matt as we began packing up after the show in a frantic hurry knowing that a thunderstorm was only minutes away. His words reflected the attitude of all of us as this scenario has become all too familiar. This was the fourth time we packed up in race against the weather within the past month. This time, more so than the previous three, we didn't win that race. By that I mean that, although the most sensitive equipment was quickly stowed and kept dry, a lot of our other stuff did get wet and getting everything from the stage into their respective vehicles meant carrying it across some very soggy grass. The good news is that the show itself was remarkably unaffected by the weather. Conditions were beautiful most of the night and a large crowd came to check out the show. The show ended only about ten minutes earlier than scheduled because of the weather and everybody was sent seeking shelter. Now, I should mention that at a couple of our other gigs this Summer there was some criticism of the decision to close the event early due to threatening weather, especially at Dan Jansen Fest on May 28 where we only played one set before the police sent everybody home to escape "dangerous" conditions that never actually materialized. Of course they were being cautious with public safety and tonight gave us an excellent illustration of what could potentially happen if the wrong decision is made... About an hour after the show as we packed up in the large gazeebo that served as the stage a bolt of lightning struck a tree about 30 yards away. If there had still been a crowd in the park a strike like that could have certainly have killed somebody, possibly several people. The lesson here?... Don't mess with Mother Nature, She'll F*** you up!     --Josh
