A Word from Josh:
We played here for the first time last year and, although the show went pretty well overall, we remember it mostly for the heavy rain toward the end of the night that made loading out a most unpleasant chore. Tonight brought no such issues as the weather was beyond perfect from beginning to end. While setting up we were able to enjoy the old-fashioned country sounds of Texas '55 who were performing in a nearby pavilion. Bandmember Larry Bister has been a semi-regular at some of my Open Mics and it was a real treat to hear him perform with his band, very impressive. Our stage was on the west end of the beer tent. It was a good and tall tent which allowed us to use our big light and sound show to nearly full effect. On the east end of the tent was a smaller stage where another band called In the Know played before our show. Our show went pretty well and drew a diverse crowd. The staff treated us great and we had an awesome time participating in this festival steeped in classic Americana. We had every reason to feel good about the night as we headed home. Sadly this feeling was soon marred by the news from Orlando about the mass-shooting there. The world is replete with tragic events but it seems to hit closer to home for us when such events involve people gathering for a good time. Our thoughts are with the victims as we push forward, because a good time is what we do.     --Josh
