A Word from Josh:
This was our fourth time playing at this particular festival and they've all been great. It's a good tent, a nice stage, great staff, a very festive atmosphere and always a great all-ages crowd. Tonight played out pretty much the exact same way... to a point. That point came during the last song of our first set. During the bridge of Whitesnake's "Still of the Night" a police officer came up the stage ramp and told me that the festival was being shut down because of a dangerous storm moving in from the west. This came as a big surprise to me because we had been playing under the tent for 90 minutes and I was totally unaware of the changes taking place in the sky. We finished the song and the announcement was made to the crowd that they should all leave and seek shelter. We kicked into tear-down overdrive in order to get as much done before anything particularly nasty came our way. As it turned out, the true nastiness never came. Rain came... but the dangerous winds and lightning never arrived. The authorities made the decision to stop the event in the interest of public safety based on the best weather report at the time, but that report turned out to be wrong. In retrospect, given the tent we were playing in, the show certainly could have safely continued to its completion but nobody had any way of knowing that in advance. Oh well, stuff happens, eh?     --Josh
