A Word from Josh:
In the early days of the band it was hard for us to book church festivals. I think they tended to assume that we were too heavy. Eventually people came to realize that we're actually quite appropriate for church festivals and now we play a great many of them. Saint Augustine is the latest such festival. It's rather small compared to many of the other ones. It's tucked into a neighborhood in West Allis just a few blocks southeast of the State Fairgrounds. From what I could see the entire festival consisted of one food station, several fundraising games of chance and the modest beer tent were we played. But the smaller scale did not diminish the 80s Rock that they would receive nor the appreciation that they showed us in return. The staff was great and kept us hydrated and fed all night. One of the familiar faces in the crowd belonged to 76 Juliet guitarist Tommy Riewe. His presence surprised me because he is the biggest male fan of Rick Springfield I've ever known and Rick Springfield was playing in the Milwaukee area. I know this because my wife was at Rick's show. So I asked Tommy why he wasn't there as well. "Because I'm rocking with you!" he responded as he flashed devil horns. Right answer!! Our show went well and ended at 11 pm, but the fun wasn't over yet. After packing up my gear I followed several friends over to the "Whammy Bar" nearby where we enjoyed more live music and merriment until past bar time. I even played my acoustic guitar for a group sing-along on the sidewalk out front. All part of a fun night.    -Josh
