A Word from Josh:
It is always fun playing at Quaker Bike Night, especially when we don't have to worry about wet weather. The restaurant itself is really cool and the crowd of mostly motorcycle enthusiasts is a blast. However, the temporary stage they set up in the parking lot is rather sketchy. During sound check we predicted that one of us would fall through an obvious weak spot in the middle of it before the end of the night. Fortunately that did not happen. As has happened before when we play here, I had trouble feeling much energy during the first two sets. Performing in direct sunlight tends to have that effect on me. Once dusk had fully taken effect I was able to find my groove. Fortunately our charming frontman John was not as lame as me and as a whole I think we did a reasonable job of entertaining the assembled throng. After the show it was clear that a couple of the guys in the band had allowed themselves to get a bit more intoxicated than you would normally expect on a Wednesday night. But that's one of the great things about playing in a working band. It's one of the few jobs where drinking on duty is quite alright. Bottoms up!! We look forward to returning for another bike night at this same location on July 23.     --Josh
