A Word from Josh:
I live in Menomonee Falls and I've been aware of Chilly Fest the last few years. It has always been a Saturday afternoon family affair featuring a chili cooking contest, an impressive display of ice sculptures and various crafts and games. This year the village ventured to expand the festival to include live music in a beer tent set up behind AJ O'Brady's tavern on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. At first this seemed like a risky proposition. Who knew if crowds would show up to justify the expense and who knew what effect the weather would have? Our uncertainly lingered right up until we took the stage and hit our first notes at 7:15 on Saturday evening. What came next was nothing short of magical. Industrial propane heaters kept the tent warm and, as our show got underway, a tremendous amount of people came in to rock out with us. Before too long the place was packed and it was easy to forget that the brutal winter was just a few feet away, it felt like a Summer festival. That is until you had to go to the bathroom. The port-a-potties were set up outside and using them was akin to doing the Polar Plunge. Obviously we're thrilled that things turned out so well and we appreciate being invited to participate in this somewhat groundbreaking event. We're curious about plans for next year.    --Josh
