|A Word from Josh:|
Tonight was the first of our three special "Bon Jovi Tribute" shows. If you didn't know that coming in, then you apparently don't follow us on FaceBook or our website or our email announcements; we've been pushing it pretty hard. Anyway, the idea of doing a Bon Jovi tribute goes way back. We've always done a lot of Bon Jovi songs as part of our regular format and I can recall comments made years ago along the lines of "I bet we could do Bon Jovi songs all night and still be just as successful, maybe even more so." So, this year we finally decided to act on that idea. Specifically, the first set was all Bon Jovi and ran for almost two hours. The hype did seem to draw a larger than average Badger Bowl crowd. The Jovi set went pretty well but was not without some loose moments. I was impressed by how many people in the crowd sang along to even the more obscure songs. Indeed, this show brought out the most ardent Bon Jovi fans. However, hard to believe as it seems, not everybody is a big Bon Jovi fan. For the Bon Jovi impaired the second set of "Non Jovi" seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. This was the only Bon Jovi Tribute Show we plan to do in the Madison area. We do plan to do it again at Rooters on November 9th which will be the only Milwaukee area performance of the tribute. As we have said countless times over the years... Thanks for a great time Madison! -Josh
