A Word from Josh:
I had played at Papa's a couple times before, but this was the first time Cherry Pie performed here. The staff was great and made us feel very appreciated right from the start. It's a smaller room and it filled up pretty nicely. However, we could tell right from the first few notes that this was not going to be a particularly vocal crowd. That's not to say that the night lacked excitement. The crowd was rockin' but at times it seemed they left their vocal chords in their other pants. A particularly fun part of the night came in the second set when our friend Eddie Martinez from the band Shinola joined us to sing "Breaking the Chains" and our rock-love-doll buddy Michael Sean from Bellevue Suite (and about a dozen other bands) came to the stage to sing "Rebel Yell". That was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, our camera broke down after the first song and we did not get any photos nor video of the guest performers. If anybody has any, we'd love to be able to share them. Those guys were a tough act to follow, but John did so in epic style with a very impressive performance of "Faithfully", Journey's tribute to the best kind of love... rock star love! The fine folks at UV Vodka donated a sweet Flying V guitar that I played for part of the show. We all autographed it and gave it away in a raffle benefitting the Wisconsin Children's Hospital. It was a very fun show, but the crowd's aforementioned vocal timidity prevented an encore. Seriously people, the word Metallica should NEVER be whispered! You wanna go there!? You gotta SCREAM!!! Let this be a lesson to you, and don't ever let it happen again! ;-)     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

(Anonymous):
"Need to show more of the crowd. Less talking and more showing music. You guys still rock!"

KONG:
"you guys rock my first time at that place a little small but it was fun see you soon"

Bittersweeteus:
"With the warm weather being really nice lately, it sure does stir the animal inside of us. And what better way to release that animal, is to rock out with CherryPie. The way they mix up the tunes, which includes two new great songs, it balances out the evening. CherryPie rules any stage and whenever they perform, they are like a roaring lion ready and charged up to rip up the night. And John, who has the most appealing physique and debonair charm, is like a shining beacon leading the fans and the band through the thickness and darkness of the night. I have to say, these guys are definitely bringing it to the table and covering it with their professionalism and the with the way they prepare and present each song making it sound better than the original artist. You guys, together with the help of the roadie, are truly rockstars that know how to rule the night time world."

Maria from Chicago:
"Everyone needs a break from reality and as ALWAYS Cherry Pie provided the escape fans need. THANKS! Thanks not only for an amazing show on Friday, but also for the AWESOME autographed guitar that I won at the show. Can't wait to see you on Saint Patrick's Day. Love Maria"

Longtime fan:
"Nice to see you play a different venue. Smaller but? Great job. Fun as always."
