A Word from Josh:
This was our first time at this bar and, well, I guess you can't win them all. They actually have a nice little banquet room, but the stage isn't fit for anything beyond a lounge trio. In sharp contrast to the huge stage we played on last night, tonight felt like playing in an oddly-shaped phone booth (does anybody remember phone booths?). Unfortunately, this pretty much reflected the night as a whole. This is a newer bar located a few miles east of West Bend (we had trouble finding it). The modest crowd that braved a cold Spring drizzle to come to the show seemed tentative most of the night. Well, when life gives us lemons we like to make a big fat lemon margarita. To that end, we got a little silly and played some stuff we normally wouldn't such as "Sweet Home Alabama." I'm sure a couple of the guys did so with sphincters clenched. But hey, it did manage to loosen some people up and some of the crowd sing-alongs did sound pretty good. Yes, the show did have some good moments. Still, we couldn't help but feel bad that people who did come support us were not catching us at the top of our game. But hey, a mediocre Pie show is still better than sticking your tongue in a blender, right? Looking ahead, things look great. We play Rooterpalooza next week before heading into a Summer festival season that is sure to be a blast. So, grab your sunscreen and meet us at the shows.     --Josh

New venue, more rain, and the second night of a double header...time to see how this one turns out. Let's roll... [more]

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Bittersweeteus:
"As the rock'n'roll crazy train pulls "Slow n Easy" out of the heavy metal station, it picks up speed as it's being fueled by the energy of CherryPie. As they perform those songs they produce electric currents that surge through the train that keeps it barreling down the rails of rock'n'roll. The passengers that have boarded at two stops, Mandt Community Center and Players Pub & Grill, are enjoying the sights and sounds that CherryPie has to offer. And John, their high-spirited, fun-loving, gorgeous engineer, keeps everything running smoothly with fortitude and stamina. As the ride ends and the train comes to a stop, we all realize that as long as CherryPie provides the transportation into the era of 80's rock, it'll be a long sweet ride!"

Debbie & Gary:
"Thanks for the tickets, we did have a nice time. We know how hard it is on you guys when the crowd is not there. We have seen all kinds of your shows over the past 6-7 years. I think the last time we seen it this hard on ya'll was at Jersery's in East Troy. But you guys still know how to turn it around into a fun night. I wish we had been there for all of Sweet Home Alabama, because that is my home State. My Hometown is Pleasant Grove, Alabama which is now 85% gone due to the tornados on April 27,2011. So now I know you can play it, so when mom comes up this summer and goes to your show you will have to play it for her. She really enjoyed ya'll last summer. Looking forward to Saturday night. I know ya'll will rock the house down. Have a great week."
