A Word from Josh:
For the second time in less than a month we found ourselves facing a show with a member of the band physically unable to perform, and for the second time in less than a month we managed to find a suitable replacement who bailed our asses out big time. This time it was long-time Barbeez frontman Eric Barbieri who came through on short notice and did an excellent job filling the very big shoes of our own Johnny Spandex who was down for the count with a viral infection that made it nearly impossible for him to speak, much less sing. Sean Bond of the hard-rocking band Tattooed was also on hand to help us out and ended up singing a couple songs as well. As in the past, it's great to know that we have such talented friends that can help make the best of these situations. Some of us have filled in with other bands from time to time, so I guess what goes around comes around and it's always great to feel a part of a greater musical brotherhood. The crowd turned out to be pretty awesome, due in part to a big bowling tournament. We were glad to be able to give them a show that, while definitely different, was still quite good in my opinion. And I'm a big believer that variety is indeed the spice of life. Still, although we've been managing to land on our feet in these recent situations, it is still very stressful so here's hoping that we can all stay healthy for a while. John is primed to return with a vengeance next week as the Pie rocks on!     --Josh

2pm - Leave K-Town for trip to Waukesha. Why so early today? Tonight I'm a double agent, working for the band, and also for Sound Decision Productions as an assitant on lights and sound. Yup...going to be a long day...[more]
