A Word from Josh:
The Divine Mercy Funfest is the latest in a long line of Church Festivals to realize that we're not so evil after all. In fact we fit in pretty darn well at these types of events. The staff treated us great and we really appreciated the hospitality. In fact, the food, drink and decor provided in our dressing room may have been the best we've ever had. It was awesome, far better than we deserve; but we'll take it because it helps make up for so many other shows where we were treated like livestock. It was great to see a few friends who haven't made it to a show in a while. Lonnie, Christ, Brandi and Matt used to be regulars at our shows and it's nice to know that they're still out there rockin'. As with most church festivals, the crowd included a lot of kids. But these kids were a bit different. I don't think I've ever seen so many young faces singing along with so many classic songs that were hits before they were born. It was one of those nights when I feel more optimistic about the future of rock n'roll. It was easy to feel good during this show, although Frankie's exuberance may have gotten the best of him when he slashed a finger on the edge of one of his drums. After our road crew got the bleeding under control with duct tape, he was able to finish the show quite a bit of discomfort. One thing we all know about Frankie is that he is committed, or at least he ought to be! Overall, the festival reported that attendance was moderate but that the beer sales were still pretty good. Ah, the key to our success has always been rooted in our ability to drive people to drink. The wonderful weather was the perfect touch on a fun night with friends, new and old. Hopefully, we can do it again next year.     --Josh
