A Word from Josh:
Of course we are all used to Wisconsin weather, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't suck sometimes. Last week we had to cancel a show because of heavy snow. Tonight wasn't as bad, but it still had an effect on our debut in this quaint little room. But such a small bar still feels pretty full even with only a couple hundred people in it. We had to be pretty creative to fit our most vital equipment on the small stage. Still, a lot of our gear was left in the truck. Regardless, once the show started the magic of 80s rock came alive. The crowd included a few of our most die-hard fans who drove through the snow to get their Pie fix. They mixed in with a strong assemblage of Eagle locals including our surprise guest hairdressers from Calhoun Station two weeks ago. Tonight they arrived wearing impromptu hand printed Cherry Pie tank tops; very stylish. Despite a pretty smooth show, there were a couple of lulls in the excitement. Frankie wasn't having any of it so he kicked things in the butt by jumping out from behind the drums and addressing the crowd via John's microphone. Another thing that lifted some spirits was the celebrating of Shane's birthday during the second set. A couple of our smart ass friends distributed flyers through the crowd featuring a devilishly handsome photo of our strapping young bass player from his days as a high school wrestler. Apparently he joined the wrestling team because that was the only sport that had been invented at the time. Shane really seemed to appreciate the good-humored well-wishing. --Josh
