|A Word from Josh:
Rooters has long been at the center of the Cherry Pie world, both geographically and in spirit. No other place engenders quite the same feeling of being among the true Cherry Pie "family." So, suffice it to say that there was no better place for us to say goodbye to Rico, our beloved and highly-skilled drummer of the last three plus years. The announcement that this would be his last show came less than two weeks ago and was certainly considered sudden and shocking by many fans. Nonetheless, they came out en masse to give him a warm and spirited send-off. People in the crowd holding signs and shouting supportive slogans created an environment reminiscent of Lambeau Field. Rico was in a great mood all night and seemed touched and tickled at the outpouring of affection. Of course, we weren't going to let all this sentimentality prevent us from rocking out to the max. Overall it was a strong show and room was full of good vibes of all types. At the end there was no doubt that Rico wanted to go out with some Iron Maiden. And so it came to pass, and it was good. As the house lights came up and we began to pack up the show, Rico found himself in the middle of an impromptu meet-and-greet signing dozens of autographs. It was emblematic of the fan support we've always enjoyed throughout the band's history; Support that we trust will carry on into the next phase of our journey which begins in three weeks at Kelly's Bleachers II. We hope you'll come and continue to be a part of spirit that is Cherry Pie. --Josh

"What a night!! Rooter's has always been my favorite place for concerts of any type of music. The fact that it was Rico's last show just made it that much more special, which electrified the crowd to the max. Rico, it was both an honor and a pleasure to meet you and your family, especially your mother!! Going to CP shows will not be the same without you there making all those faces!! Take it easy, and do not be a stranger to future CP shows, OK? Take care and God Bless,
"Great time! Great show! Thank you soooo much for not taking photos or video of the antics that occurred in the cage on the dance floor... :-)"
"Wow, what an awesome sendoff for a talent such as Rico! You guys rocked even harder than usual I think. I caught one of the many flying drumheads thrown out into the audience and even took some damage near my eye lol when it hit me in the head. The price I pay to have a piece of Cherry Pie history :P. Rock on!"
"I can't explain, but when CherryPie performs at Rooter's it tends to bring out their wild side. They play those instruments with such fierceness and emotion, it's almost as if the instruments are hard to control. John, who's very astute and has a rock-hard physic and an attitude to match, controlled the crowd. Also John showed his compassionate side when he talked about Rico's last show. He spoke about feelings that grow for a close friend and that you should tell them how you feel. I agree with John 100 percent. And to add to that, it should be done with sincerity and before it's too late. Because once they are gone, you have lost all your chances of doing so. Rico will be sadly missed by a lot of people, but changes do happen and life goes on. You guys put on one awesome show tonight!!"
"What a great way to celebrate my birthday!!! However, the feelings were bittersweet, to say the least, with it being Rico's last performance. I know I lost a few tears :( Tons of luv goes out to Rico and hope to see you around sometime! For the rest of you, I love you guys and will support you until you can't kick high with tight pants on anymore!! See you at Kelly's!!!"
"A great show on a happy and sad night. Happy that we celebrated Trixie's birthday, sad that we had to say goodbye to a great friend. To Rico and his family...Keep it Hard, Keep it Fast!!! See the rest of you at Kelly's. ~VV"
"hey guys you rock! come play in marshfield, WI! itd be awesome"
