A Word from Josh:
This was our 300th show as Cherry Pie and I think we're finally starting to find our groove. Or maybe not. Actually, this show got off to a bit of a lackluster start, for me anyway. Nursing a minor shoulder injury, I was physically unable to move on stage the way I usually like to. The early start (7:30 pm) meant that a lot of the crowd was not yet properly lubricated for the show early on. Of course John rose to the occassion as he always does, putting on one heck of a show from the opening bell. Eventually everything fell into place and the show was quite a success. This is a good-sized town festival with a high-profile softball tournament and lots of rides for the kids. Oddly, it came as quite an unpleasant surprise to many of our friends to discover that the kids were not allowed inside the tent where we played. What's up with that? So we played into the evening, entertaining a large throng of adult party animals and alcoholics. It was pretty great. Early in the second set we had to stop for several minutes as the festival put on a very impressive fireworks display. We returned to the stage with some fireworks of our own as we rocked the house down right up until 11:30 when the local police said we had to stop. We would have liked to have done an encore, but we've got another big show tomorrow night and it would be hard to play it if we're in jail. See ya at Rooterpalooza!     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Bittersweeteus:
"It's something how when you get to these festivals, people are just going about their business and it takes awhile for them to drift under the tent, or close by, to listen to CherryPie. After they hear a few songs, they are hooked and start rockn' with the band. It only goes to show you that when these CP guys play as awesome as they do, they can make just about any inquisitive patron turn into a rock'n'roll fanatic. Then there's John, who is very persistant in trying to wear down any unyielding patron. He seems to prevail in almost anything he sets his mind to. This was another impressive night of fun-filled entertainment."

Kevin:
"Hey guys !!! This is the 2nd time my wife and I have seen you. What a show you put on and the rock from the past is performed great! We stayed to the end until the police came to get the people out that wanted more. We hope to see you again in Theresa."
