A Word from Josh:
Like dozens of people across the country, I've been following the Winter Olympics quite closely for the last two weeks. This shouldn't surprise anybody who read my journal entry from February 22, 2002. It was no small feat for me to tear myself away for a few hours to play a Cherry Pie show. But of course it was well worth it. Unfortunately our gold medal drummer Rico was unable to play tonight because of a death in the family. We do expect him back tomorrow night. Filling in quite capably for this evening was Dave Schoepke of the band Boxkar who will be playing at the Dry Bean next Friday (March 3). Of course, anytime you play with a substitute musician things are going to feel different, but that is often part of the fun. One thing that did not feel different was the warm response of the crowd. This Dry Bean crew was as spirited as ever, even making me forget for a moment the disappointment of American snowboard racer Lindsey Jacobellis whose crucial mistake cost her a gold medal. Of course, she can take some consolation in the silver medal and the fact that she's a friggin' hottie. But I digress. Our show was quite the success and we appreciate all the support we got from so many people. Indeed, long gone are the days when the Dry Bean Saloon was a venue devoted only to country music and cowboys. And, to that, I say "Yee-ha!!!!"      --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

ROCKIN REED:
"First, my condolences to Rico. Your fill in (Vivian Campbell) did a great job. Yes, he looks like that Campbell of Dio and Leppard fame. It was a rockin show with some oldies that haven't been played in awhile. Eventhough Dry Bean is my least favorite place to see CP they still were able to bring the house down. This was my 25th show (groupie) and you guys keep getting better and louder. Keep livin after midnight and rockin til the dawn. See ya at Badger Bowl..."

lonnie:
"I just want to say I wasn't at the show but JOHN I must say. KNOW THATS A FRIKEN SET LIST!"

KC (Minneapolis area):
"I made the drive again and saw you guys at the Bean. I can't get enough! You guys rock. I just wish you'd come west so I could see you more often. But no worries, I will drive hours upon hours to see another show. Rock on."
