A Word from Josh:
It was another blast at Kelly's II only five weeks after our last visit there. Like last time, the big show feel was helped by a quality opening act, this time being Left on Sunset who played a variety of cover tunes ranging from "Brown Eyed Girl" to the very latest Bon Jovi. Their set started somewhat slowly, but the crowd really got into it about midway through when they played the Big & Rich country rock anthem "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy". Indeed, as they finished their show things were really hopping and we were eager to take the stage. Of course, anytime you plan a fancy show involving Cherry Pie and our overkill of equipment, you can expect delays. By the time we were ready to start it was almost 11:00 pm so we made the executive decision to eliminate our break. The result was Pie for nearly three hours without stopping. In my old age it has been a common occurrence for me to get tired down the stretch of a show, even with a break, but tonight that wasn't a problem. I felt great all night and it sure seemed like the other guys did too. It got pretty warm during our set, but not unbearably so. It just felt like the sweat was keeping our performance well-lubricated. The crowd was great. Although not testing the capacity of the cavernous Kelly's II, there were still more people attending than would fit into most other venues. We fed off of their energy and enjoyed watching a lot of sexy dancing as we played. I thought it was interesting to meet a couple of young men rocking out in the front row who were visiting from Columbia because last night at the Dry Bean Saloon I met a couple of young ladies from Brazil. Indeed, 80s Rock is quite a universal language.     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Loreen & Debbie:
"HEY CP, As usual you guys ROCKED the house down. We had an awesome time! Too bad the night went WAY too fast. Left On Sunset was great, too! Thanks for a wild night!!! See you next time."

Tom and Nanc + Vic and Vik:
"After much procrastinating we came up from Chi Town to see the 'other band' in John's life. What a treat! Great rock, great food, great crowd!!!! See you on the 5th."

Slick:
"Had to jet early to see a bud playing in his band. Wouldn't ya know the phucker was sick that night and didn't play! Aint doin that again!
p.s.you guys rock!"

Bittersweeteus:
"Two great shows in two nights. Both shows, the CP guys put on a performance tht rocked the night away. John, looking very appealing in his Slayer shirt and black leather pants, used his aggressiveness and dominating demeanor to keep the crowd in a rockn' state of mind. Both shows were very impressive and intriguing, especially the one at Kelly's Bleachers. And not to mention, great show of stamina guys at Kelly's Bleachers. Doing a show for 3 hours straight without a break. Talk about a ball-breaker."
