|A Word from Josh:
Wow, the last time we played Badger Bowl John made a comment about how it seems to always snow when we play here. Well, he seems to have some sort of divine insight because it snowed a bit tonight too,... and it's f#@%ing late April!!! Is it too late to name John as the new Pope? I can picture it now, Pope Spandex I. Anyway, we had a pretty good crowd on hand to celebrate Earth Day with us. The clever part is that nobody knew that we were celebrating Earth Day. It was kind of subtle. Yes, Cherry Pie is nothing if not subtle :-P. Looking around the room, it looked like there were more new faces than usual. Actually, I think it only seemed that way because some of the less familiar faces were so conspicuous; including some sexy dancers and a group of guys who looked like the cast from "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome". John made a point to thank the crowd for their votes which earned us this year's Madison Area Music Award as the People's Choice for Best Cover Band. This was our first Madison show since that award was announced. John called this our Madison Appreciation Weekend referring to the fact that tomorrow night we will be playing just a couple of miles away at Luther's Blues. A lot of tonight's crowd indicated that they are planning to come to that show too, so we will be changing the set list as much as possible between the two nights. "If you didn't hear us play a certain song tonight, you'll hear it tomorrow night," John told the audience. One such song will be "Tom Sawyer". It was not in tonight's show despite some very vocal fellows on the dance floor who were shouting for some Rush all night. At one point Rico and I stoked the fire by playing a small section of "Subdivisions". That was fun. Dave and I battled some technical problems throughout the night and a couple of us were getting pretty tired down the stretch but the crowd kept us going, especially during the encore where we really found our second wind and ended the night with a furious bang. Yes, Madison continues to be very good to us and we are very grateful for that. 'See you at Luther's. --Josh

Jim Becker - aka Mo:
"What can I say but you guys continue to amaze me with your music. Thank you. And yes I was one of those guys you refered to as the cast from "Mad Max". I had the mohawk and fur on my shoulders. And if you think your the 1st to mention that think again. 8) Anyways I'll be promoting you on JJO 94.1 tonight. I just wanted to research you guys a bit and get some upcomming show dates. More Madison stops please! Thank you again for your passion of music, I love comming out to see you guys perform!"
"After seeing Cherry Pie a few times now, I was wondering if they would fall into the "same-old, same-old" pattern that many other tribute/cover (and even original) bands do. Does a band that endeavors to play songs “the way they were originally played” run the risk of becoming stale? Not Cherry Pie! Their strength is not only in their consistently solid and authentic delivery, but also in their choice of songs, set arrangement, crowd rapport and interaction, and showmanship. Tonight, like every show, I heard a variety of different old favorites skillfully rocked out. Yes, not just presented or played, but really delivered with energy and fun. And not with a distracting, gimmicky “our personal touch” spin that many bands feel they need to put on a song. Cherry Pie does it their way none the less, but their way is with confident and appropriate embellishment that comes from familiarity with, respect for, and mastery of, the music. Just like the songs they choose, which we fans never tire of hearing, Cherry Pie stands up to repeated use. Soaring vocals, hot licks, and thundering drums carried the show. Thanks for a great first night of a Cherry Pie mini-rockfest. It was like being at an impossibly complete dream concert of my favorite bands -- once again!"
"There is so much heat coming from this bar, you could probably warm up the cool weather outside! The band's performance was very sublime. From their high-speed playing to their untouchable talents. John, who has the self-confidence to accomplish whatever he sets out to do no matter the challenges, was able to keep everyone dancing and rock'n up to the very end. And even though it felt like being in the middle of a dry spell, the show was still fantastic! Also, Congratulations CP guys, on winning the MAMA awards! You certainly deserve it."
"It sure was nice to be at a show, really the first one since November, I had almost forgot how much fun they were, That was a blast!!! See you guys again soon"
