|A Word from Josh:
Opening slots like this are often a mixed blessing. The excitement and exposure that usually comes with opening for a "national" is often offset by technical and logistical hardships that make it hard to put on a good show. For the most part, this gig did NOT fit that mold. Yes, we were a bit cramped on stage (but not as bad as I expected) and getting our equipment off the stage after our set was a chaotic mess. But, in general, our show went really well. It sounded pretty good on stage and the crowd, packed full of familiar faces, was hot and pumping from the start. In fact, we emerged from the stage with the sense that Firehouse was coming to play in OUR HOUSE, which was a great feeling. Of course Firehouse rocked the house and everybody had a great time. Funny thing about Firehouse... They are widely considered to be one of the "quintessential 80s bands" with the hair & clothes (back in the day), the sexually charged hard rock tunes and majestic power ballads. Yet, technically they aren't an 80s band at all, having released their first album in 1990. I suppose you could think of them as a hold-over of the kick-ass 80s casting a vestigial light onto the dark Nirvana-stenched early 90s (Thank Goodness for Firehouse!). One person who missed the Firehouse set was our own Johnny Spandex who had to head down the highway immediately after our last notes to play a late-night gig with his other band ARRA down in Chicago. Perhaps his brain took off early as he seemed to get confused on stage a couple of times (very unlike him). That was good for a couple of laughs. With major thunderstorms pelting the Midwest all night, we were glad to hear that John's odyssey came off without a hitch. While he was out singing south of the border, the rest of us were having a great time watching Firehouse and then later relaxing at Dave's house with pizza, beer, friends and family. The rain couldn't dampen a great night. Well,... that's all she wrote! --Josh

"LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!!! Even though the weather was horrible, an awesome crowd came out to rock the night away!! The set was short but "sweet" and the guys always sound so good at Rooters! Wish the CP boys could of stuck around after their show to catch FH but we know they had other commitments to attend to, Josh did stick around long enuff to snap some photos and Shane came back later to chit-chat!! Wanna say thanx so much to my sexy girlz....Julie,Stef and Jody for making my b-day celebration so fun, "We were overnight sensations" It was great to see Lonnie and Christ again thanx for the b-day drink! Dawn your a wild woman!!!!!!! "neon green rulz" ;) I'm sad to see an end to the indoor club shows but also looking forward to a rockin the summer away with CP!!!"
"Again guys it as an awesome show for the short set on a crowded stsge and you still had the crowd rockin. Firehouse couldn't had a better opening act then you guys our ears are still ringing, you guys started it and firehouse finished it. It was good seeing are old and new friends up in the front row and all around and to the 2 that were so rude pushing and spilling drinks on everyone and hitting people on the head while rocking to the music next time try to get their early enough for the front row. You're welcome for the birthday drink kittykat!"
"Yes! Another rock'in night. It was hard not hearing a full set of CP. It was my first time seeing FH. FH was Awesome to take time to meet, sign, and do pictures! Christ thank you for the drink. You and Lonnie truly are super friends. Hope to see ya out this summer. Ready to party outside! xoxo"
"FIREHOUSE, FIREHOUSE, FIREHOUSE...What can I say but they were ABSOLUTELY AWESOME to say the least!! Then again EVERYONE knows they are my FAVORITE!! They even played my favorite song as the last song of the evening!! On top of all that I got a pick, and a drumstick, my picture with them and I was front row center the entire evening!!! (Yes I had the perfect view of something all evening too just for my friend Michelle who sadly could not be there!!) I surely was not moving even if some mean girls tried to squeeze there way in - thanx front row friends for standing ground!!! And the best part of the evening…..I was surrounded by so many wonderful friends (Birthday girl Kitty, Poison, Jody, Lonnie, Christ, Laura, & Dawn) So all that (CP, FIREHOUSE, and GREAT FRIENDS) and just when you think the night could not possibly get better……afterwards a few of us got to hang out and go Bowling with the guys from Firehouse!!!"
"I have to admit, this was my first time at a CP show...All I can say is WOW. I was absolutely blown away. I have never had a better time at a concert. When the guys left the stage I was totally disappointed...I wanted them to play all night. I will definitely come to the next full show, and bring as many friends as I can pack in a car..."
