A Word from Josh:
Wow, we've been out of action so long I'm having to try and remember how to do all this website updating stuff. I'm glad we remembered the songs as well as we did. This show took place in Sun Prairie, not far from John's house, which served as a great afternoon location for some Summer fun and great food for the band and family members. This fit in perfectly with the very "family-friendly" Party in the Park where the kids enjoyed carnival rides before the show started. In fact, during the first set, most of the dancers in front of the stage were under 10-years-old. As darkness descended the kids headed home and the adults started getting their buzz on. Unfortunately, many of them weren't quite in the mood yet during the second set. After all, it was only 10 PM at this point, pretty damn early for a typical Cherry Pie crowd. John actually had to sing the first verse of "Wanted Dead or Alive" for himself. I don't think that's happened in over a year. I'm glad he remembered the words. The crowd did redeem themselves later as they really helped us tear down the house down the stretch. As they sang their hearts out on the sing-along part of "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" Jas was busy bribing the local police with brownies to keep them from shutting us down early. Yes, a Cherry Pie show is a team effort, and this team has a new member. Our new drummer, Rico, was making his debut as a permanent member of the band (John pointed out that Rico is still in need of a stage name, although we do have a couple of good suggestions), replacing the very popular Nick. Rico did very well, and nobody in the crowd knew quite how much of a trooper he really was being. He is actually recovering from a serious leg injury. He modified his drum kit and we modified the show so that he could follow his doctor's guidelines. Still, he was playing in quite a bit of discomfort throughout the evening but certainly didn't let that affect the show. 'Reminds me of the night John performed most of a show with a badly burned arm. Yeah, us long-haired musician types are a tough lot. Anyway, the bottom line for this show is that It's Good to Be Back!     - Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Bittersweeteus:
"I went to the Angell Park show and it was great! I even got to hear the new drummer and I thought he was good and fit right in."

Lynn Leisure-Strudell:
"These guys really kicked ass! My daughter and I were there and they autographed posters for us between sets. Talk about cool people. The guys spoke with us and didn't seem to mind us interrupting their break between sets. Josh is one tall mo fo! I'm 5'1" and I only came up to his chest. My daughter was crushing on the drummer. You guys rock!!!!!!"

Karen:
"Saw you for the first time and you are all fantastic performers. I had a great time and really enjoyed listening to the old rock songs. I also loved getting onstage to play the bass guitar with Shane. That was wild! Thanks for the trip down memory lane with the music, and hope to see you all perform again soon! John is a fantastic singer!"

Allen:
"My wife and I saw you guys in Sun Prairie with the new drummer. Even though Nick will be missed, your band still rocked. Keep up the great shows and showmanship."
