A Word from Josh:
Let me just say at the top that this was not a great show, at least not by our recent standards. Although we played well and a lot of people were there and a lot of people really seemed to enjoy it, we never really got "over the hump" to where everything goes crazy (if you know what I mean and I think you do). We've seen in the past that Green Bay crowds can be pretty finicky. They expect to be won over completely from scratch with each song. They'll pack the dance floor for one song and then sit down and complain that you didn't play their particular request. There are also a lot of bar-hoppers who leave at a pre-determined time no matter how much they are enjoying the band. It didn't help matters that our light show was compromised by a lot of ambient light and our beloved Jasmyn was not on-hand to help make our hair beautiful. Plus, being a top-notch sports bar, there were lots of TVs around which, at times, proved very distracting to a couple of us sports fans. The end result was that I don't feel we ever hit that "groove", that comfort spot where everything just flows and the energy builds synergistically. With a lack of familiar faces in the crowd, it felt more like we were playing for the first time in a new town far away, which it really shouldn't since we've played in Green Bay many times before. Anyway, enough bitching, there are a lot of positive things to report. We helped celebrate a couple of birthdays, Tiffany and Karen, although we did not give them the bumper sticker treatment (what's up with that John?). There was also a group of people from Kiln, Mississippi who make routine trips to Green Bay to show support for their hometown hero Brett Favre. The ones I met included Mabel, Stevie and Rhonda. They were bubbling over with Southern charm and hospitality. Of course, another good thing to report it the return of our nubile young drummer Nick who was away on a family Holiday vacation last week while we played a couple shows without him. It was nice to have his pretty face (and tight ass) back on stage with us.     - Josh
