A Word from Josh:
Night two of two with a strange drummer. Well, Rico may seem strange to me, but apparently he has a lot of friends, many of whom came out to see him play with us at Rooters. His picture was actually on the walls of the club; as a former member of the Boogiemen he still appears in some of their posters (he's the one wearing the dress). It was a very good night. The crowd was strong in numbers, but even stronger in voice. I swear, man for man, babe for babe, this may have been the loudest crowd we've ever had, both singing along with us and cheering after favorite songs. One member of the audience who stood out was a guy who was rocking hard at the front of the stage throughout the first set, occasionally going into a "Cornholio" impression with his shirt pulled up over the top of his head. Yeah, he was a bit odd, but I think everybody realized he was pretty harmless and you sure couldn't beat his enthusiasm. Also in attendance were members of the band Rhythm Method including Bobby Rouse who joined us on stage to sing "Wait". He sounded great. When John returned to the stage he commented that his microphone smelled "like alcohol all of a sudden!" Bobby explained that it was because of the gin-flavored gum he was chewing. All in all, we've had a great Thanksgiving week. We'd really like to thank Rico for filling in on drums for the last two shows. He did a great job and I was glad to get to know him.     - Josh
