This was a great opportunity for us. This club has a "built-in" crowd which was obvious from the moment we got there. The large room was so crowded at 4 PM that we were forced to delay bringing in our equipment for 2 hours. Our task was simple... to win over a large group of people, most of whom were there for reasons not related to Cherry Pie. Well, I'd say that the mission was accomplished. Hundreds of people seated at tables on the main floor in front of the stage watched us attentively and applauded loudly throughout the first set. In the second set, we loosened up a bit and so did the crowd. The small "dance" area between the tables and the stage remained packed with enthusiastic rock'n'rollers and beautiful women, many of whom were dancing quite provocatively. Most of the faces were new to us. During "All She Wrote" I asked Shane, "Where did all the cute chicks come from?" I'm sure he didn't care, we were all just glad that they were there. One of them later introduced herself to me as Sue Swanke. I didn't get any other names (I'm kinda shy you know). Some of the familiar faces in the crowd included Keith Pratt, Jolee Jackson, Barb Prueher, Lori Denk, Joellyn Lacko, Lynn Smith and her friend Robyn. I was very glad to see Cheryl, Dan, Ann and Ron Mehlbrech who all came over from Wisconsin Rapids. It had been a while since all of them were at a show together. Another person in attendance was a woman who I've know for months in Yahoo! chat rooms as "ice_angel35". Her real name is Debbie and I had never met her in person but I recognized her from her picture right away. She came to the show with several other of her "chat buddies" and they proved to be some of the wildest party animals of the night. I talked to so many cool people during the evening, too many to keep track of, so if any of you folks who were at the show would like to jog my memory with an email I'd be glad to add your name here. BTW, I think I saw Antonio Freeman in the crowd during the break. I'd like to know for sure if he was really there. Speaking of the Packers, John made clever use of football references to help get the crowd going. He picked on Mark Chmura and Mike Holmgren which got mixed reactions from the audience, but there was nothing mixed about their reaction when John dedicated "(I Hate) Everything About You" to the Minnesota Vikings. Aw, that was too easy. Kiss had played a concert in Wisconsin the night before and we noticed several Kiss T-shirts in the room. John drew attention to this fact and was able to whip many folks into a frenzy over our performances of "Beth" and "Calling Dr. Love". Toward the end of the night things got wilder and wilder including people joining us on stage as we played, something which has become somewhat of a tradition for us. The crowd didn't seem to thin out at all heading toward bar time which made us feel great. We appreciate the enthusiasm of our newest fans and look forward to seeing you again at upcoming shows.    -Josh
