A Word from Shane:
First off I have to bring up Johnny's burns again. His arm was gross, it looked like he laid his Harley down at about 60 miles an hour and skidded 100 feet on his arm. Because of the previous weeks pyro incident that caused his burns our Pyro Tech extraordinaire O.J. called us all into a meeting before we started playing to discuss the evenings fire plans. After about an hour of graphs, maps and Power Point presentations I think O.J. made his point and our insurance company will sleep easier. The message must have been effective because there were no new burns to report from the evening, in fact several flash powder filled pyro tubes even decided not to burn, but we did manage to pop several circuits with the pyro control panel. All of those who braved coming in from near perfect elements were treated to a Cherry Pie first. The second set hosted a "Luscious" debut at lead vocal. Josh took center stage for a rockin' version of Billy Idol's "White Wedding". For those of you who don't know, he used to sing in the Miami Boys Choir. He was asked to move on when the choir robe he wore became to short, thus leaving Luscious "Rod" exposed. He will be the first to boast that he understands how that could have been a big distraction. He did a great job at the front of the stage, which brings up a good point... Josh is an accomplished Keyboard player, Guitar Player and now Singer. If he decides to get a drum machine the remaining four of us may have to look for new jobs. Another highlight of the evening was a birthday celebrated by a babe in snake-skin pants who we've seen at shows before, but we didn't know her name. Well, we now know that her name is Sue and that she's a LOT of fun when she's had a few. Sue had a great group of friends helping her celebrate and giving her courage to come up on stage. While on stage for her birthday roast she teased the crowd with a sassy lesson in bra removal. Once the bra was removed, with no glimpse of her birthday suit, Sue added her "support" to Jack Hammer's drum kit. Thanks Sue and friends for letting Cherry Pie celebrate your birthday party with you. Thanks to the crew that own and work at Rooters, you are always so nice to work and party with. Finally, a hats off and thank you to the regulars for your continued support. Julie Keller, Rachel Lapalme, Stacy Hackl, Trina Salm, Stephanie Roix, Tom Birkenmeyer, Colleen Evans, Don Peaslee, Heather Peaslee, Tom "Hog" Hilber, Debbie Mann, Kristin, Alexandra and Jenny were among those in attendance. We look forward to helping you celebrate the Memorial Day weekend Saturday at Illusions.      - Shane
