A Word from Josh:
This may sound odd, but this was an excellent gig for us, marred only by the fact that very few people attended it. That's right, we played well, the sound and lights were great, all the equipment worked fine and people responded very enthusiastically. The poor turnout of only a few dozen people caused us some concern early on, but it quickly became obvious that this motley little crew of Manitowoc's roudiest was going to rock our world all night. The few familiar faces in the room included Cathy Dorsano, Barb Prueher, Connie Aney, Sheryl Swanke, Sue Swanke, Adam and a couple members of Blizzard of Oz : Paul Rennert and Rick Schmidt, each of whom not only came up on stage and jammed with us, but also did an effective job of distracting us with hijinx during the show. "I'm coming to see your band soon," said John to Paul with a big grin. "And you're going to be in trouble!" A more somber moment came earlier when John, upon request, dedicated "Home Sweet Home" to a popular young man who frequented the bar and had passed away that morning. The bar's owner Dawn and some of her friends were dressed up in 80's fashions and big hair for the occassion. They were among the small but mighty crowd that spurred us on right to the end. Others included Sandy, Rene, Lynn and Paula. Dawn even rallied the troops and insisted that our crew turn the equipment back on for a second encore. She took the mic and announced to the crowd that "This is the best band I've ever had play here!... And they're not bad to look at either, eh ladies?" Aw shucks, she probably says that about all the bands [blushing].     - Josh
